The Journalist Connection

About Us

The Journalist Connection is an online magazine featuring reports, photos, and videos produced by young non-professional journalists who live in areas of conflict. Covering a variety of angles and perspectives and firmly grounded in the first hand experiences of our reporters, the stories found in The Journalist Connection document the perceptions and knowledge of people who are profoundly aware of what is happening on the ground.

Our reporters are committed to chronicling changing events and evolving situations over time, in an effort to share vital information about life in a conflict zone and to contribute to the dialogue surrounding their country’s future.

First launched successfully in Afghanistan, The Journalist Connection is establishing a worldwide network of people who are interested in advancing communications in areas of conflict, and has projects currently underway in Mexico, Colombia, Iraq, and Somalia.

The reports in The Journalist Connection do not represent any ideological consensus. We believe that our reporters are entitled to have divergent ideas and opinions, and by publishing them we are seeking to enrich the public discourse. Reports selected for publication undergo minimal editing for clarity and grammar only, thereby allowing our reporters to express themselves without censorship and in their own unique style.
